MORTIFICATION Complete Work On New Album

December 28, 2003

Australian Christian metallers MORTIFICATION have completed work on their twelfth studio album, "Brain Cleaner", for a February 2004 release through Rowe Productions. The follow-up to 2002's "Relentless" is said to be "the heaviest project the band has recorded in 10 years" and being described as "a lot more of a death metal/grind-orientated album but with plenty of power and thrash metal mixed in to keep it interesting and multi-dimensional."

"Brain Cleaner" will mark the recording debut with the group of drummer Mike Forsberg (ex-CYBERGRIND),who replaced Adam Zaffarese earlier in the year. "Mike Forsberg has many years experience playing in extreme metal bands and brings a big feel of early MORTIFICATION back into the sound," according to a statement on the band's web site. Artwork has once again been handled by Troy Dunmire ("Primitive Rhythm Machine", "Envision Evangeline", "Triumph of Mercy", "Relentless"),but "Brain Cleaner" represents his "most adventurous" piece to date, according to the group. MORTIFICATION's lineup is completed by Steve Rowe on bass/vocals and Mick Jelinic on guitar.
